"Our return to enjoy the consistent food quality and all time favourite Lamb Shank and Thursday special bourbon Brisket. Definitely Yum. Service was great and there goes our evening. Will be back guaranteed. Remember they accept cash or debit only and do call in advance in order not to be disappointed. Go for it! Dec 14th 2025: came back to try their prime rib instead of favourite Lamb Shank. Indeed flavourful and wine pairing. Thanks once again for your amazing consistency food preparation."
"My first time back at The Dam Pub since they relocated to Meaford and their food and drinks are still wonderful! They were kind enough to make the Jack Daniels Caesar like I used to have at their previous location. My brother enjoyed their Auchentoshan whiskey dram and my husband loved their ginger drink. To start, we enjoyed their French onion soup and shared their deep fried haggis. For main, I went back to my favourite dish - their lamb shank. We also had the burger and bangers and mash. My brother really enjoyed their frozen peanut butter pie. Look forward to coming here every time we're in the area, it's definitely our tradition!"
"A Wednesday, driving through Grey County, between Owen Sound and Thornbury, rests Meaford. A somewhat unassuming little town which the highway cuts through. If the need to stop hits you - find The Dam Pub! The wall, actually “walls” of whisky, from around the world (or at least what the LCBO will sell in Ontario) is what drew me in. And as much as I wanted to take a flight for a test, my requirement to stay on the road back home drove some constraint. Scotland, Ireland, Japan, US and of course Canadian (even Ontario) whiskies fill the “wall”. Oh, and they have food as well. We were having a late lunch so enjoyed a burger and fish & chips. The batter was light and fish cooked perfectly as it lay across a bed of perfect chips. The burger, home made and thick, with fries and two well placed and large onion rings. Both dishes were good, but a bit bland for our pallet. I washed down the burger with a local Thornbury lager. Should you go, yes. It is worth the stop to just see the “wall”. My next visit, my wife will be driving. I would be a bit more adventurous on our next visit and let my wife drive home."
"Stephanie and her crew have created a very special spot on the main street in Meaford. Stopped by for dinner and an expertly guided whisky flight in September 2025. Stephanie has curated quite a collection of over 1,000 bottles of whisky. Likely the largest collection in Canada. Very impressive. Looking forward to another flight!"
"Foods are amazing. These organic salmon were so soft and rich. Traditional shepherd pie are amazing, can hardly taste ground lamb. The dessert….highly recommended to try out. Sticky toffee pudding and bread pudding are the bomb! Trust me, you won’t regret. Was not expecting to be above average. My family and I are very happy with the meals. We will definitely come back for sure."
"Went for new year eve dinner with my wife and others. Loved the place as it was warm and welcoming. Staff was very nice and helpful. Although the meals tasted good, portions were very small to be polite. Would have paid a higher price, as I thought prices were not overly expensive for what we tend to get nowadays and for a new year dinner. We had heard they had great beef and looked forward to having it but was not offered. Selection of whiskeys is out of this world and would love to have gone there more often to sample many that I have not had. They said they had over 1000 types."
"Exceptional Dining & Service! Our dinner was absolutely outstanding,Finger-Licking Good! The Frizzled Short Rib was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, topped with crispy frizzled onions and a rich demi jus. The Dam Lamb Shank was perfectly braised, fall-off-the-bone tender, and seasoned beautifully. Both dishes came with fresh, well-prepared veggies that complemented the meal perfectly. The customer experience was just as exceptional—the staff was welcoming, helpful in selecting dishes, and made us feel truly valued. A fantastic dining experience—highly recommended!"
"The Dam Pub is “dam” good!! We visited for lunch today and were impressed with the atmosphere, food, and service. The restaurant moved from Thornbury to Meaford and is a wonderful addition to the main street corridor. The decor and atmosphere is cozy, like a British pub, and the whiskey wall, with over 1,000 types of whiskey is a cool and unique feature! A neat wall display shows a picture of John Catucci from “You Gotta Eat Here!”, which makes me want to watch the episode (S1.E14)! Our server, Megan, was very friendly and provided excellent service! The daily specials (Cauliflower Cheddar Soup, Eggs Benedict combo) sounded tasty, but we had our hearts set on certain dishes. We ordered Classic Calamari, Wee Shepherd’s Pie, and Fish & Chips. The food was delicious and nicely presented - compliments to the chefs! The calamari was enjoyed by all and not rubbery like some calamari can be. The fish & chips were fried perfectly, with crispy batter and tender fish. The tartar sauce was tangy and tasty. The shepherd’s pie with the house salad exceeded expectations. The house salad was exceptional and offered a variety of flavours. Overall, we had a “dam” good experience and will visit again! :)"
